Why My Website is Down to Me Only?

Now that you have checked your website on above third party sources and if it is only down for you, please go through the aspect below to get to know possible reasons for why it is down for you only:-

  • IP Address Banned on Server Firewall
  •  Security reasons including incorrect login attempts or trying to hack.
  • IP address keep changing. You might get an IP address which is already banned world over or at our server due to some of its user trying to hack the server.
  • To resolve this you can check and send us your IP address (to get your IP address simply mention ‘my ip address’ in search bar). A permanent solution to this is to get a fixed IP from your ISP and let us know to whitelist  in server firewall.
  • Outage at ISP.  Sometimes your ISP e.g ptcl may not be accessing a specific network, which means you can access other websites from your internet but not your website. You can check this aspects by trying to open your website on a proxy or on other ISP e.g. if your website is not accessible at nayatel, check it at witribe.
  • Issues at Your Router.  There are large variants to the issues pertaining to specific website vs specific router including temporary misconfiguration, dns issue at router, router firewall etc. Best bet for non-technical person is to – restart router, set the router to default settings, try direct connection with router (instead of wifi), flush dns.
  • Outage on other Network Between You and the Server. Needless to say that your website is served to you through number of global networks between your PC and the server. This can be checked using trace route. However, these networks are not controlled by your hosting service provider or ISP.
  • The Internet Service Provider is having Network Outage. Due to which it may not be reaching specific network / websites. Check through a proxy or other ISP and get to know of it.
  • Other reasons which are commonly self-explanatory can be:-
    • The firewall / Antivirus at your PC is blocking the website.
    • Cache of your browser is uploading old error page.
    • The domain name has expired.
    • The domain name has been newly registered but not verified by You.
    • The domain name is newly registered and dns has not propagated.
